Welcome to the Secondary School!
In partnering with Christian parents, our aim is to enhance and enrich the learning that children are already engaged in at home and in other areas of their lives. Our goal is to see students explore, experience and evaluate all of life under God through a wide variety of learning activities.
EXPLORE
God gave gifts to each student and we want to discover them, helping each child unwrap their gifts for God. We seek to develop faithful, discerning and responsive disciples of Jesus Christ.
EXPERIENCE
What do most adults remember from their high school education? Was it engaging? Were you passionate about your learning? Was it relevant? We’ve been making strides in our development of an environment where students are feeling significantly engaged and passionate about their learning, seeing the relevance of their studies. We want to give our students the skills needed for defining questions, seeking and organizing information and working cooperatively with others to manage and address real-life problems. Up to date technology is incorporated into many aspects of our curriculum. It is a big challenge and an exciting process.
We teach students at all levels of the academic spectrum because we believe that God gifts each of our students differently. We have AP courses for students to learn at a rigorous level, but we also have significant Special Education and Learning Assistance programs to guide students who find learning difficult. We see each child as a unique expression of God’s creativeness.
EVALUATE
Learning in the classroom is only part of the experience at ACS. We have well developed programs in athletics, the arts, band, drama, wood work, auto mechanics, drag racing and culinary arts. Each of these programs is a tool to be used in implementing our vision for Christian education. Our students have opportunities to serve people at home and around the world through trips to our sister school in Nicaragua and other worldwide service opportunities. We hope you will join our community as we strive to become obedient and creative servants of God and of neighbour and responsible stewards of His creation.
