The Cross Country season concluded with a muddy day at the Provincial Championships in early November. Our Junior Lady Knights finished second in their division with three runners placing in the top 20, led by Janelle Hay in 7th. The Senior Boys' race saw a field of 250 athletes compete over a 6.6 km course. Grade 12, Jeremy Van Woerden ended his high school cross country career in terrific fashion as he ran hard to an 18th place finish.

ABBOTSFORD CHRISTIAN KNIGHTS PLACE STRONG AT THE FRASER VALLEY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
The cross country team from Abbotsford Christian School had an impressive day on Wednesday racing in Hope, as schools from all over the Fraser Valley came to compete in the Championship race. The Knights had two fourth place finishers, and two teams who qualified for the provincial championships.
The Junior girls' team captured second place as 5 runners finished the 4.4km race in the top 24. Janelle Hay raced to fourth in a field of 72 runners; Emily Enns finished 17th, Catherine Taekema 19th, Jordyn Dyck 20th, and Chelsea Jenner 24th.
The Junior boys' team had a solid outing as many runners improved their times from the week before; Chris Marginson was the top Knights runner in this division.
The Senior boys' team punched their ticket to the provincial championships with a top five finish on the day. In a strong and deep field of 135 runners; Jeremy Van Woerden finished fourth over the 6.4km course, Jordan Tipton place 22nd, Arron Griffioen 36th, Ryan Couperus 53rd, and Brayden Kampman 59th. The Provincial Championships are on November 7 at Crescent park, in south Surrey.

The Knights had a great result last night in their final tune-up before the Fraser Valley Championships next Wednesday. Yesterday, in Hope, the junior girls finished in second place, behind Semiahmoo; five girls finished in the top 18, with Janelle Hay racing to 2nd. The Senior Boys edged out WRCA and Chilliwack for first place: Jeremy was 4th, Jordan 6th, Arron 12th, Ryan 20th, and Brayden K 22nd over the 6.5km course. The junior boys are a large group of 11 runners who keep improving their times, Chris M and Garret G led the way yesterday. Well done everyone!

18 students competed in the Christian Schools Championships on Oct. 13 at the King's School in Langley. The Knights finished in 2nd place overall. Catherine Taekema won the gr. 8 girls division; Jordyn Dyck, Chesea Jenner, and Emily Enns finished 1st,2nd,3rd, respectively in the junior girls division; and Jeremy Van Woerden, Jordan Tipton, and Arron Griffioen finished 2nd, 4th, 5th respectively in the sr. boys division.
