Music at Abbotsford Christian School

Formal music instruction begins at an early age Music instruction at Abbotsford Christian School begins at an early age with students from grades one to five receiving 90 minutes of specialized instruction per week. Included in the program is theory instruction, choral singing, composer and instrument study, and a school wide song of the month. The elementary school also has an extra curricular volunteer choir, 'Joyful Sounds' which allows students with a particular interest in music to explore and develop that gift.

At the middle school, grade seven students experience 'Band' - a chance to find out what it is like to be part of an orchestra. By grade eight, music becomes an option, allowing those students who enjoy music to continue right through to secondary school.

For those students who choose to continue their music education the secondary school music program provides ample opportunity to take their studies further with a variety of Band classes, including Grade 9 Band, Senior Band and Jazz Band. Choral instruction is also available.
