At ACS, we have designed our education to equip students to live responsively and responsibly for their Creator, Redeemer, and Lord. The school cannot do the work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts sinners and calls them to repentance and faith. However, the school tries to structure its curriculum in a way that proclaims the need for a commitment to Christ, the Lord of all creation, and to reveal the enormous claim God has on each of our lives. Our curriculum proclaims God’s dynamic design for the universe, revealing life’s inherent interrelatedness. (Education Policies and Procedures - p.6)
We are Comprehensive
Our academic foundation is built on the core subjects of Math, Science, English, Social Studies and Languages while also offering the creativity and diversity of courses in Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Technical Education and Athletics. This comprehensive program encourages students to explore and discover their unique, God-given gifts and abilities.
We are Continuous
We offer a carefully crafted program that is designed to maintain a continuity of scope and sequence from Pre-school through Grade 12. Within this context, each campus—Elementary, Middle and Secondary—is able to focus on the unique learning and development characteristics of its specific age levels.
We are Biblical
All of our courses are taught from a Biblical worldview. Students learn about the intricate, diverse, beautiful world that God has made and how it reflects the Creator. Students are challenged to respond in faithful obedience to God, bringing about healing and restoration to a broken world.
We are Relevant
We find ways of connecting life and learning through service projects, field trips, thematic units and various projects which are multi-disciplinary and have a real-life focus. Our efforts are aimed at preparing students for life after graduation by focusing on the essential skills of critical thinking, problem-solving, independent research and collaborative effort—all developed in a technologically rich and relevant environment.
We are a Community
Our teachers are dedicated professionals who care deeply about each of their student’s academic development as well as their faith development. Their goal is to build class communities where all students are encouraged, respected and learn to take on responsibility, by working to the maximum of their individual potential.
