30th Annual Auction and Garage Sale
30 years ago, a small group of dedicated ACS parents started the Auction and Garage sale, raising money to help our school. 30 years later, the auction is still going strong, having raised well over $2 million! Many of the original committee members still help out year after year on auction day and they wouldn’t miss it!
This year’s auction is set for Saturday, October 15, so mark it on your calendar now! Come out early for the pancake breakfast hosted by ACS teachers and staff. Stay all day and enjoy great deals in the garage sale, lots of items up for sale in the auction; send the kids over to check out our re-vamped Kids Korner
and enjoy great food all day long. We are excited to welcome back the “Chicken Guy” who will be BBQing half chickens for lunch, as well as other great choices on the menu. If you have a home based business and would like to be part of the auction this year, you can rent a table, please contact Denise de Jonge for more information.
Did you know the charity auction idea originated with a pig being offered up for sale over and over? This year’s charity auction will have a Travel theme....Where would you like to go? The winner of the charity auction will receive a travel gift certificate....more details to follow!
As always, we rely on our school community to donate either new items to the auction, or gently used quality items to the garage sale, so start thinking ahead to how you’d like to contribute. Our canvassers will be calling our supporting businesses in September for donations of new items to be auctioned off.
If you are new to the school, or haven’t been canvassed before, please contact the business office to find out how you can make your donation.
We are looking forward to another great auction, celebrating 30 years of God’s faithfulness to ACS. We hope to see you there!
Take Time to VOLUNTEER -- We need you!!
It takes more than 200 people to make the auction a success. These people include the planning committee members, those that setup or take down, those that run the garage sale, those that work in the kitchen, those that work quietly behind the scenes, the teachers who make breakfast, the auctioneers and spotters and canvassers, and many others.
Please consider where you can help and watch for sign up sheets coming home at the end of September.
